The stream of Information Technology was introduced in the college in year 2007. The Department of Information Technology at Green Hills Engineering College is firmly of the belief that the competence of the students is the primary concern of the faculty. It is a constant, persevering endeavor by the faculty to develop student skills in a manner that the core competence of the students is of the highest quality and up to the desired industry standards.

IT Department is well equipped with computer labs with latest computers and dedicated internet labs with 100% power back-up for the all round growth of students. The department is Wi-Fi enabled and well furnished with latest amenities for the students to avail. We welcome the students in the esteemed college and in our department for the Class of 2009. Also for the convenience of students and visitors, the Department site provides E-Books and Previous Years Question Papers and more information about the department and about the faculty. It has one of the BEST faculty in the college cooperative teachers enable the student for better understanding.

The college is connected with Reliance Broadband connection which runs at a maximum speed of 4 Mbit/s. The main DHCP server is installed in the Computer Block. A fiber based Local Area Network then connects the computers of the college to one another and also to the Internet. A WIFI wireless network also connects the campus.

ELEVATION is the annual technical festival of Green Hills Engineering College, Solan, Himachal Pradesh embarked in 2008 and since then has never looked back.‘Elevation’ began as a small endeavor in 2008 to provide a platform for the students of GHEC to showcase their talents and it is improving every year. ELEVATION is a combined package of knowledge, learning and fun, thus aptly named so. ELEVATION-2011 the elevation 2011 has been over and was conducted very excellent the Chief Minister Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal inaugrated the event. As the elevation has various events conducted with excellence student participated very well and on a large scale.
